 Fort Anderson Living History
« Result #1 on Feb 16, 2009, 6:41pm »

Thank you to all who made it down to Ft. Anderson this past weekend. We had a good turnout and nice weather - perfect weather for mid-February. Our infantry programs were very well received by the visitors as well as the site staff. Having the "fry bread eatery" was nice, although we had many soldiers try their hand at cooking in camp. YUMMY! There were steaks everywhere! Thanks also go to Gil Stewart and Greg Oliver (1st/11th NC) and a visiting reenactor, Charlie Jackson, who is with the 28th GA, for assisting us with the program. The lantern walk on Sat. night was great as well. Good job guys.

Thanks to all who came out to our Christmas program on Dec. 6th. We had a good turnout, and I must say that the game of baseball, candle making, and music helped add to our portrayal of soldiers on furlough. As usual, the natural decorations in the kitchen were top-notch, and it was great to see all the spectators making ornaments for the outside tree. A special thanks goes out to Pvt. James for his presentation of the battle flag to one Lt. who was trying to forget about his performance at Ft. Branch. And finally, we want to thank the guys from the 7th NC who fell in with us for the day. We enjoyed having you there! Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks to all who came out! Great weather, and a nice program - artillery, infantry, cavalry, music, blacksmithing - and the MOST SPECTATORS I'VE EVER SEEN AT BENTONVILLE! We also were able to get in a musket certification/safety class for 3 newbies. Looks like we picked up a few new recruits also.

 Missing Vest
« Result #8 on Jul 24, 2008, 11:28am »

Did anybody pick up my misplaced vest? I had it last August and thought I brought it home. Now I cannot find it. It is maroon with black lining and two buttons (we ran out before I could sew more on).

Matt

UPDATE.... Stay tuned concerning the Bentonville date. Capt. Harry is going to check with the site staff, and we may need to change back to the Aug. 23rd date. I'm keeping both dates open right now, until that is ironed out.
